There’s a lot going on. The Middle East. The oil price. The Royal Commission. The polls. The Senate hearings. Epstein. If you’re interested in current affairs, it’s a long list. It’s difficult to stay on top of things.
So I dragged myself back, kicking and screaming, to the 6pm television news. It’s a one-time ritual I’d long ago abandoned. I did so out of a need to catch up with the facts quickly.
I shouldn’t have bothered.

I turn it off and go outside to play tiddlywinks with the sewer covers. It's less stressful!
According to recent polls I have done my due diligence to average out......the trust in the legacy media amongst the general public now sits at below 1/3rd. That is pretty much lower than a snakes arsehole territory right there.
Yet, It is still allowed to broadcast and function , to lie and obfuscate, to broadcast not news but half-baked bullshit that masquerades as news. It's just an exercise in frivolous feel good flapping the gums....to those who preach this dross. It is nothing more than an embarrassment to the rest of us, however.
Some in the industry say our distrust in them is somehow "perceived" Like fuck it is. It's real.
If our "perceived" distrust in legacy media comes at…
Its NZ that has lost its way.
Why would anyone give a shit about TVNZ.
And, I would have said NZ has not only lost its way Its lost the bloody plot entirely.
What a shambles, so talented and over run with experts even the capital city is now swimming in its own excrement.
A shining example of precision decisions

Sorry. Couldn't read the post as Herald requires a subscription. As we do not live in Auckland , the content is less relevant. However I agree with the comments on the performance of TVNZ.
Excellent article and so true. That biased reporter Maiki Sherman, sounds German , should be fired as she has a distorted view of politics and anyone right of centre is a target for her. Her disgraceful behaviour in hounding Luxon and interjecting with inane questions in a quest to embarrass and put upon the PM last Monday morning was disgraceful. Her leftist bias is so obvious and it detracts from any political coverage TV 1 presents which is a turn off for viewers and many now give the 6pm news on One a miss.
