"Infighting, rates hikes, bike lanes, and burst pipes. Wellington cannot afford the mismanagement across our Councils.
We love Wellington, but the Council's mismanagement has left our city in crisis. We need increased accountability from our City's leaders."
That's the message from the Wellington Ratepayer's Alliance who placed the following full page advertisement in this morning's Post:

These are the people that would have advocated for NZ Councils to become united under the 3 Waters fiasco.
You remember the shit show under Labor, whereby the whole of NZ would contribute unilaterally to the costs of water accumulation, reticulation, as well as sewerage collection, treatment and disposal.
WTF do these people do.... would these be the precious over stressed shits working from home 4 days per week.
Is it any wonder Wellingtonians swim in their own sewerage, and have no reliable fresh water supply..... its quite obvious!.... these people are not being paid their true value.

Chief Maori Officer? How about the rest of us? Who do we go to when we want a manager? If you want to know why this country is in a mess, look no further. Divide and conquer. But who wins other than a few fortunate Maori lawyers and accountants and apparently a Maori Manager.
It has been suggested that some of my "diatribes" are too long and complicated to read and understand, so here is the summary.
Most of the money that people called the government spend is legally extorted from productive working people, who sell their time and labour (a significant part of their lives) and get bugger all value for what is taken from them without their knowledge or consent. Just a suggestion. Taxpayers and ratepayers should receive an account of the money was taken from them and what it was spent on.
Yes, we can look up how much money local and central government employees took from the rest of us and what they spent it on but the clever system seems…
Just step back for a minute.
Firstly, this situation exists in most councils in NZ, I would guess.
It's a racket.
Most council services have been contracted out over the last decade or two.
Staff numbers keep increasing.
Re the Wgtn example, and all councils probably, that these individuals identified are the top of a pyramid structure of people underneath them.
They all have their arses to cover and protect.
Ratepayers? the golden goose.
