I have stood at Dachau, outside Munich. I have walked Yad Vashem in Jerusalem. I did not expect to feel it again in Auckland.

Auschwitz. Now. — the Holocaust and Antisemitism Foundation’s exhibition in the CBD — is beautiful and devastating. You need to experience it. I think it will change you. It changed me.
We need reminding not of dates and shocking statistics, but of individuals. Their faces. Their stories. Then the horror of multiplying those stories by six million.
We need to understand what we are capable of. The unbelievably monstrous evil. And the courage. And the humanity that somehow survived inside it.
Just go. You will not regret it.

Some very shocking stats to think about. The merciless slaughter of 6 Million Jewish people was undeniably INHUMAN. But wait. there is even more. "Studies" have estimated that around 2% of all deaths of members of our species were due to lethal violence by others. And around 1 of 100 people are KILLING THEMSELVES.
Around 27,000,000 Russians died violently defending their nation from Nazi domination.
Many many more suffered and were seriously injured.
That is most likely what prevented the Nazis from winning.
Communism killed another 10 or 20 million Russian citizens.
Communism also killed 40 to 80 Million Chinese people.
Naziism and WW2 also killed 6.6 to 8.8 million German citizens.

Oh, for God's sake: can we stop with this incessant prostrating ourselves before "The Holocaust" nonsense? It's 100 years ago and the way some people behave is beyond embarrassing at this point. What does it say about the sociopolitical dynamic in 2026 that we have to continuously to pay homage to a historical narrative that relates to Europe in the 1940s?
