That's an unintentional play on words.
Thank you for sticking with us through the site changeover.
There are a couple of matters which we wanted to draw to your attention.
1/ Just under half of our site 'members' have 'never subscribed'.
If you are one of those, that means you do not receive email notifications when a new post goes up. Subscribing is FREE and it's easy. Just go to the 'about' page (top left-hand side of our home page).

At the bottom of that page there is a box to enter your email address and then hit 'submit'. Having upgraded our site capacity we are gearing up to publish more writers and more posts in the run-up to the 2026 election.
2/ With the change of contact address from bassettbrashandhide.com to brashandmitchell.com some email notifications may be going into your spam folder. Unfortunately we cannot control this. You need to tell your email system that emails from brashandmitchell.com are not spam. This is usually possible by going into your spam folder, opening one of our emails and marking it as 'not spam' but each system is different. If in doubt ask AI which invariably provides easy to follow instructions if you give it the right question.
Finally Brash & Mitchell is now on X at https://x.com/BrashMitch63761
If any questions arise from the above, don't hesitate to contact us at contact@brashandmitchell.com
I've tried subscribing in that 'about' and it doesn't work
Those who peruse this site, amongst other like minded independent news sites do so because we're sick to death of being feed shit for dinner, funded on our dime.
Take a stay , pull up a pew, and think about this.
So many of us have openly advocated for the removal of taxpayer funding for state run organizations that are openly biased against the right, and now are so brazen to make no secret of the fact that they are nothing more than a political arm who supports the Labour party, make every effort to hide the very obvious shortcomings and deficiencies of the two parties needed to enable Labour to regain control of the treasury benches, instead choosing …
My issue is that there are some excellent sites such as this but additionally there are others such as breaking views. But much that I did read is now behind substacks etc. could an aggregation of content be possible with a modest fee I have little problem with a diverse selection I read Chris Trotter and enjoy his perspective and analysis but with a bigger bundle funding and sponsorship may even be possible.
That is where traffic and followers become interesting. Media is on death row as we have known it if this silly Govt. stopped the subsidies and made TVNZ slim their spend the transition would be over in a week.
I would aver there are many of us who are regular visitors here and read every article of interest anyway.
Email notifications can be a source of annoyance.
I use my email notification facility for sites that do not regularly change their articles (Hobsons Choice for example) otherwise its clutter I can do without.
Nevertheless thank you for continuing with this essential community service.
Freedom of speech is paramount ......
I particularly enjoy this site..... it gives my lazy old brain the motivation to think outside the square....
So good to see this important political column continue. .A big thanks due to Don and Hilary!
It is essential that there be a publication reporting what is happening behind the scenes that is honest and totally devoid of Government spin and propaganda. especially so with a General Election 9 months away,
